Irreverent Moments?

In the midst of beautiful worship.... Making sure that the song lyrics appear on the screen, sitting there, a friend bringing me communion. No words of forgiveness spoken, no hearing broken & given for you, but a HUGE piece of bread dipped in wine. Taking and savoring each bite in between singing a Danish song translated into English. Another bite. Singing. Another bite. Tasting the bread dipped in wine. The only response left in my heart is to worship too loudly. Not because I have to, but what else is there? Savoring again and again bite after bite. Moment after moment.... Our hearts swell with emotion. This is how forgiveness is. Not something quick. Not something fast.... But a slow dance. Do you wonder? Are sure? Yes....taste this forgiveness in your mouth again and again. In, with, under... Loving the mystery of it all. Of a love that is simply enough. Content. Peace. The stress of the day melts away to a cacophony of voices melding together in the praise of a God who we do not see, but God who we do see as the light & love explode out of their eyes. Irreverent? Probably. Definitely. But what other language is their to describe these moments that we savor with a God who dares to come so near to us & clothe Himself with humanity. Here heaven meets earth. Today. The Kingdom is now.
