Signs of Awe and Wonder ...

Our text from the last week at Jacob's Porch. A million fantastic stories from last night at worship, as it felt like the place was on fire and exploding, but today's story just making me smile. Walking back from picking up lunch and there is one of our homeless friends named Jason, trying to talk one of the maintenance guys who works for the other apartment buildings around us into giving him 82 cents more for a beer. The guy is answering Jason right as I walk by with, "No. Sorry, I won't give you money for beer." To which I comment, "Nope Jason, no money for that." The man introduces himself and we all start talking on a street corner by a dumpster where this man named John continues his story, "Brother Jason. I have been where you are. Addicted to coke. Alcohol. Trolling for just enough money for one more beer, but brother, God wants something better for you..." Standing on a street corner. Just like every other day while a stranger is just preaching away. Loving on Jason like none other and speaking truth. He turns to me and in some of his final words, John says: "Sometimes, it's just about planting and watering the seeds....we won't ever see the fruit of our labor, but it's in God's hands." Preach it brother, just preach it.

For other moments of awe and wonder, here are some video clips from our week. Sorry about the quality of some of them, but hopefully the silly, mundane, and joyful moments will make you smile as you wrestle with what it means to abide in the love of Jesus and listen for His heartbeat. Signs of awe and wonder.
